Founder of SPARKD

I'm 1.5 generation Korean-American, hailing from Long Island & Korea. After graduating from Fordham University, I was on my way to NYU medical school until I wasn't. Instead, I attended William Esper Studio's Conservatory program & Upright Citizen's Brigade in NYC. I immersed myself in everything from acting, standup comedy, improv, screenwriting, dance...& more.

By day, I worked in a variety of fields from finance, medical research for NIH, marketing, real estate, corporate, being promoted in corporate, more corporate...& consistently found myself coaching myself & others through "it". "It" being the "9-5" grind, zero balance/harmony, studying for grad/law/business school, glass ceilings, intersectional oppression, market crashes & all sorts of other challenges.

Although I appreciate those experiences as they have brought me to where I am today, I realize that I was chasing my need for fulfillment + purpose with no real success. I had checked off all the boxes (the degree, career, paycheck, social circle, etc) but something was missing. Enter diving deeper into coaching, therapy, yoga, research, trial & error. I upended the world looking for something that ultimately I found within myself. Turns out, I just needed access to the tools to help me.

Coaching, mentoring & tutoring have always been a part of my life. I think it all started with me serving as an English tutor to my cousin during summer break (I proved more effective than their ESL tutor). 1 or 2 of my clients have even grown with me as I started tutoring them in high school, adding on mentoring in college and life/leadership coaching over the years.

Growing up in a small town, I often found myself sitting on the sidelines wondering why I wasn't like everybody else. After struggling to feel like I genuinely belonged for most of my life (twisting myself so I could fit familial, societal & systemic expectations), I decided it was time to break free from my limitations and step into the person I was meant to be - confident, free and inspired to live the life I've always imagined.

Now I've turned my transformation into an easy-to-follow system that anyone can use to unlock their potential and start enjoying life like never before. My truth: Life/biz should be FUN! Or else why the hell are we all here?!

I founded SPARKD1 Coaching to help ambitious yet unfulfilled high-achievers who know there is a better way to lead & live...their way & on their terms. I partner with modern-day leaders to live & lead with authenticity, clarity and purpose, ultimately resulting in a fully inspired life... Hopefully developing their own unique voice to evoke positive change. God knows we need it.
